The Hofstede Model of Philippines    The Hofstede Model is a measure that score a culture based on six criteria that are: Power Distance, Individualism, Masculinity, Uncertainty Avoidance, Long Term Orientation and Indulgence. The graphic that you see at the beggining is a comparison of the score that I imagine have this culture and the other are the score based on a page of Hofstede Insights. Let's start with the first criteria, the scores are very different because I thought that the Phillipine people don't accept inequality but it seems that is the contrary. Another difference is based on the second criteria, in my opinion this culture is very individualistic but in reality is the oppositive. The rest of the criterias are very similar. What we can conclude from this comparison is that until we know the culture by other means than the internet, we shouldn't generalize our concept of that culture. TYPES OF CULTURE BASED ON LEWIS MODEL Hi everybody , well as you know every week I try to post some things about the Philippines culture, and today is not the exception. So let's get started. According to the Lewis model, we can classify the different cultures around the world in three big groups that are: Linear-active model, multi-active and reactive culture. This is very important to know because with this knowlegde we can understand better the culture of other countries, and in our case the Philippines´s culture. Comparative between Colombian and Phillipines gender stereotype Today I'm going to talk about the differences between Colombian and Phillipines culture related to gender stereotype. Firstly, the women in Colombia are not so much involved in politics. On the other hand phillipine women have an active participation in politics, a big example of this is that in 1986 they had their first female president. But then, here in Colombia women only a few years ago have become involved in the politics. 

Gender Roles in Phillipines Well today we are going to learn a little bit about the gender roles in this country. In my case I have some question about it, that I think some of you have. So my first question is what role do phillipine women play in the home?. Well some of you will think that phillipine women only take care of the house and their children, but this is not the case. My stereotype of a Filipino woman When I think about the Philippines people I think that they all have straight hair. Their eyes are small. Their skin is very clear and without acne marks. Also I think usually the people are thinly built.
